About this Workshop
Ever wonder about the sustainability of our food? This workshop explores the types of food we eat and the impacts of our current food system on the planet. We explore the future of food production and creative actions we can take to protect the planet and food for the future. This is a pre-recorded workshop – watch the video and do the activities using the materials provided!
Why do this workshop?
This course is for anyone with an interest in reducing their impact on the planet through their food habits – from how we shop to the foods we eat and where they come from.
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- Understand why we need food and recall the types of foods we eat.
- Describe the food production system in Ireland and identify how it works.
- Apply your knowledge of the food system to evaluate how it is impacting our planet.
- Understand the future of food production.
- Develop actions we can take as individuals, communities, and systems now and in the future which are necessary to help reduce the impact our food is having on our planet.
