Exploring Ecology & Biodiversity
Pre-recorded Workshop

Funded by WorldWise Global Schools

More information below.

About this Workshop

From forest floors to coral reefs, we dive deep into the Web of Life, exploring how everything in nature is connected. We examine the threats to biodiversity, and the actions we can take as individuals and in our communities to protect biodiversity. This is a pre-recorded workshop – watch the video and do the activities using the materials provided!

Why do this workshop?

Ever wonder what happens when you remove an apex predator from an ecosystem? And what does “biodiversity” even mean? If you are interested in understanding biodiversity, how ecosystems work, and how we can protect species from threats like climate change and pollution, then this course is for you!

By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Define the terms ecology and biodiversity.
  • Understand the importance of biodiversity and how everything is connected.
  • Identify good vs. bad biodiverse environments.
  • Describe what happens when you remove an Apex Predator from the ecosystem.
  • Examine the threats to biodiversity.
  • Create solutions to the biodiversity crisis – how we can help as individuals and on a larger scale.
